Sheffield and Rotherham will provide the settings for the new offices of a leading Australian charity, which has picked South Yorkshire as its first international base.
WISE Ability is a new charity founded last year by WISE Employment, which has 22 branches across Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania and the Northern Territory.
The group, which delivers employment services to disadvanted job seekers, will create 40 jobs in its chosen location.
It made the decision following the input of local and regional agencies including Creativesheffield, Rotherham Investment & Development Office (RiDO) and Yorkshire Forward.
Working in partnership with Remploy, one of Britain's largest providers of specialist employment services, WISE Ability will aim to deliver the Government's Flexible New Deal employment programme in South Yorkshire.
John Bateup, WISE Employment chief executive, said: "We are very excited to be launching our first offices in the UK in Sheffield and Rotherham.
"It has involved a lot of hard work and preparation from our own teams here and in Australia."
WISE Employment specialises in providing quality employment services to local job seekers and employers.
