Yorkshire and Humber estate agency Hunters has increased its lettings-business staff to 57 and group turnover to £7 million with the acquisition of Gateway Lettings.
York-based Hunters has bought the Easingwold business, which was owned by Margaret Calvert and Helen Marden and has properties in its portfolio across North Yorkshire, for an undisclosed sum.
Hunters spokesman Kevin Hollinrake said: "This is a strategic acquisition for Hunters as we already have a strong presence in both Easingwold and Boroughbridge.
"The combined businesses will operate from our existing offices in these towns, under the management of Michelle Bailey, who has run our York lettings office for the past couple of years."
Hunters's letting business has expanded during the downturn, thanks to a policy of franchising the brand.
