A list of all businesses, cafes and shops that sell Fairtrade products is being produced in Leeds.
From this list, which is being compiled by the Leeds Fairtrade City steering group, a a shoppers' leaflet is being created, which will help to guide people to places with Fairtrade products.
It is due to arrive in time for the fifth anniversary of Leeds' Fairtrade City status next year.
"This leaflet is being produced to support the many cafes, shops and other outlets in Leeds that stock and use Fairtrade products," stated Richard Brett, council leader.
He added that the leaflet will also hopefully give those businesses that sell the items more publicity as well as increased sales.
The Fairtrade steering group in the city is also looking to nominate "flagship" businesses that use Fairtrade products, as well as promote it in the company and in the community.
In the UK, the Fairtrade Foundation was established in 1992, while the first products to feature the body's mark were introduced in 1994.
