Yorkshire firm Fivesquared, which provides industrial noise and vibration testing services, has won its biggest single international contract with US-based Schiller.
The company beat an Italian rival for the deal to test and certify equipment for Schiller, which manufactures ground care products.
It marks a significant break into the US market for Fivesquared, which already has a long list of European clients including BP, Centrica, British Waterways and Carillion.
Fivesquared also provides services to around 60 councils in the country including Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield.
The company credited the success to its previous experience with global manufacturers and its top-quality safety and maintenance software Toolminder.
Jeremy Hoyle, the firm's sales director, said: "This is by far the largest single international contract that we have won to date and truly confirms our position as one of the world's leading independent test and certification companies.
"All test work will be run out of our Huddersfield operations office based at Longwood and will take place at test locations including gardens and property owned by English Heritage."
