An oil services business based in Yorkshire has reported that its profits have risen in comparison to last year.
Getech, which specialises in the studies, provision of data and interpretation services to the mining exploration and oil industries, reported its revenue rose 15.9 per cent to £4.13 million, compared to £3.56 million in 2007.
The firm also noted its profit before tax was up 11.7 per cent to £0.9 million from £0.81 million in 2007.
Peter Stephens, non-executive chairman of Getech, commented: "We anticipate that the demand for gravity and magnetic data will continue to remain strong."
He added that the acquisition of increased data marketing rights over the year meant that the company expects that particular area to continue providing "a major revenue stream".
The company is based in Leeds and employs over 40 people, of which more than 35 are technical staff.
It was originally a spin-out company from the University of Leeds.
